How To Create An Awesome PicTrip

A lot of pictures

The most important substance for a great PicTrip: loads of pictures. 300 is a good number to start with.

Photo Series

Take picture series of your favorite motifs to make sure your friends don’t miss out on the important stuff.

Stop Motion

Want your PicTrip to feel like a stop motion film? Take a picture series of a moving scene and enjoy the effect in your PicTrip.

Keep it simple

It’s much easier for the eye to capture plain pictures. Simple motifs and clear colors make PicTrip more fun – especially if the PicTrip is composed of many individual pictures and few series.

Keep ‘em all

Keep all your pictures, even the blurry and wiggly ones. They will make your PicTrip look and feel authentic.

Landscape format recommended

Like any film, PicTrip works best in landscape format. Portrait format works, too, but the app zooms in on these pictures and fills missing parts with black.

Choose your speed

4 pictures per second is already faster than any slideshow. But at 16 per second individual pictures dissolve into a flow of colors, forms and sceneries with details flashing now and then. Try out different speeds and find out if you prefer the faster or the more easy-going modes.

Choose your music

Fast or slow, electro or classical – pick whatever you like. PicTrips work with any kind of music, because the brain automatically matches the pictures to the beat.

Short intro

Important: Make sure you choose a song with a short intro. Otherwise your PicTrip is over before your song has even started.

Experiment!

The more you experiment the quicker you’ll know what works best for an awesome PicTrip. And as we still haven’t figured out all the tricks ourselves – tell us what you like!
